Round Box Machines: Flat Type
Short answer
Flat-edge round rigid boxes are built from a bent greyboard wall. The HF-500C bends the wall, the HF-500A wraps the cover paper, the HF-480 folds the paper in and the HF-530 presses the lining, for boxes up to 500 mm in diameter.
Overview
A round box built from a bent wall.
A flat-edge round rigid box is not made from a tube. Its wall is a strip of greyboard bent into a ring, then wrapped in cover paper in the same way as a square rigid box. Flower boxes, hat boxes and round gift boxes up to 500 mm across are made like this.
The four machines follow the process in order. The HF-500C hot-presses the greyboard strip into a ring. The HF-500A wraps the cover paper around the wall. The HF-480 folds the paper over the rim and into the box. The HF-530 presses the lining against the inside wall to remove air bubbles.

How to choose
5 things to settle first.
- 01
Diameter
The HF-500A, HF-480 and HF-530 take inner diameters from 60 mm, up to 500 mm (480 mm on the HF-480). The HF-500C wall bender starts at 120 mm.
- 02
Height
20–450 mm on the HF-500C, 20–280 mm on the HF-500A and HF-530, and 20–250 mm on the HF-480.
- 03
Changing size
The HF-500C needs no mould and changes diameter in 5–10 minutes. The HF-500A uses a plastic mould and takes about 30 minutes to adjust, as does the HF-480.
- 04
Speed of each step
Wall bending runs 3–5 pcs/min. Wrapping and folding in each run 300–500 pcs/hour, and lining pressing 10 pcs/min.
- 05
Shapes other than round
The HF-500A also wraps oval, D-shaped and racetrack-shaped boxes, and square or triangular boxes with rounded corners.

FAQ
Which machines are in the HORFON round box machines: flat type range?
4 machines: HF-500C Round Box Cardboard Bending Machine; HF-500A Round Box Labeling Machine (Servo); HF-480 Round Box Paper Folding Machine (Servo); HF-530 Round Box Inner Bubble Pressing Machine.
Which box shapes can the HF-500A wrap?
Round, spliced round, oval, semi-round and D-shaped, racetrack-shaped, and square or triangular boxes with rounded corners.
What diameter of round box can these machines make?
Inner diameters from 60 to 500 mm on the HF-500A and HF-530, 60 to 480 mm on the HF-480, and 120 to 500 mm on the HF-500C wall bender.
Does bending the wall need a mould?
No. The HF-500C hot-presses 1–2 mm greyboard into a ring without a mould, and changing diameter takes 5–10 minutes.
How fast is a round box line?
The HF-500A wraps and the HF-480 folds in 300–500 boxes per hour each. Wall bending on the HF-500C runs 3–5 pieces per minute and lining pressing on the HF-530 10 per minute.
